Bournemouth Agree Deal for Juventus Defender Huijsen
Bournemouth have finalized a deal with Juventus for defender Dean Huijsen, agreeing to a transfer fee of £12.6 million. The total cost of the deal could increase to £15.2 million, depending on performance-related add-ons. Huijsen is scheduled to undergo a medical examination with the Premier League club.
The 19-year-old defender is set to become Bournemouth's sixth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison, and Koby Mottoh.
Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen represented various Dutch youth teams up to the Under-19 level. He moved to Spain at the age of five and obtained Spanish citizenship this year. He made his Under-21 debut for Spain in March.
Huijsen began his football career at Costa Unida and later joined Malaga in 2015. He moved to Juventus three years ago, initially playing for their Under-17 team. Huijsen made his senior debut for Juventus in an October match against AC Milan, his only appearance for the team. He spent the latter part of last season on loan at Roma, where he made 13 appearances and scored twice.
