Guerschon Yabusele Returns to NBA with 76ers on One-Year Contract

The Philadelphia 76ers and French forward Guerschon Yabusele have agreed to a one-year contract worth $2.1 million, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal is reportedly a minimum contract.

Yabusele is currently in the process of resolving a $2.5 million contract buyout with Real Madrid, which would enable him to leave the Spanish team and return to the NBA, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Drafted in the first round in 2016, Yabusele attracted interest from several teams following his performance at the Olympics, Charania reported.

During the Olympics, Yabusele played a key role in France's silver-medal finish, averaging 14 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-8 forward scored 22 points in France's upset victory over Canada in the quarterfinals and contributed 20 points in the gold-medal game against the United States. His performance earned him a spot on the tournament's All-Second Team.

Yabusele's previous NBA experience was with the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 2.3 points and 6.6 minutes per game over 74 appearances. After his time in the NBA, he found success overseas, earning All-Star recognition in the Chinese Basketball Association and winning a EuroLeague title.
