Harden Set to Return to Clippers with $70M Deal
The Los Angeles Clippers are set to re-sign guard James Harden to a two-year contract worth $70 million, sources confirmed to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The deal includes a player option for the second year.
Harden, acquired via trade in November from the Philadelphia 76ers amid a dispute with team management, made an immediate impact for the Clippers. Across 76 games, the 34-year-old averaged 16.6 points and 8.5 assists per game, contributing to the team's fourth-place finish in the Western Conference with a 51-31 record.
During the postseason, despite a first-round exit to the Dallas Mavericks in six games, Harden led the Clippers with an average of 21.2 points per game. His performance was pivotal as teammate Kawhi Leonard was sidelined for nearly the entire playoffs due to injury.
The Clippers face another significant decision this offseason in retaining star wing Paul George.
