Doncic, Irving Both Score 33, Lead Mavs 3-0 Wolves
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving each scored 33 points as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-107, extending their lead to 3-0 in the Western Conference finals.
The Mavericks sealed the victory with a 12-3 run in the closing minutes of the game. Rookie center Dereck Lively II exited the game with a sprained neck following accidental contact with Karl-Anthony Towns' knee.
No team in NBA playoff history has overcome a 3-0 deficit. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night in Dallas.
P.J. Washington ignited the decisive run with a corner 3-pointer assisted by Doncic and Irving.
Doncic and Irving then took over, with Doncic sinking a crucial shot in the lane and Irving thrilling the crowd with a falling-down jumper.
Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 26 points, while Towns contributed 14 points but struggled from beyond the arc, missing all eight of his attempts.
Doncic went 10 of 20 from the field and 5 of 11 from three-point range, while Irving shot 12 of 20 overall and 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
The game saw Lively exit after absorbing contact during the second quarter. He was assisted off the court and taken to the locker room for evaluation.
Lively and starting center Daniel Gafford played significant roles in Dallas' previous victories, with Lively shooting a perfect 12 of 12 from the field in the series.
