Ipswich Town is on the verge of finalizing a record-breaking transfer deal for Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson, pending a medical examination.

The 20-year-old is set to complete a transfer valued at an initial £20 million, with an additional £2.5 million potentially payable based on performance-related bonuses.

Hutchinson emerged as a top target for Ipswich following a standout loan spell in the Championship last season, where he contributed 10 goals and six assists.

Under the management of Kieran McKenna, Ipswich Town achieved an unexpected automatic promotion by finishing second in the league.

The completion of this transfer, expected later this week, will assist Chelsea in further aligning with Premier League financial regulations.

Having joined Chelsea from Arsenal in 2022, Hutchinson, who holds dual Jamaican and former English under-19 international representation, has made two appearances for the club.
