Max Verstappen of Red Bull clinched his third straight victory at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Verstappen successfully fended off McLaren's Lando Norris, who secured his fourth podium finish in the last five races.

"I think as a team, we did really well today," Verstappen commented. "We remained calm. I think we pitted at the right time. Of course, the safety car worked out nicely for us. But even after that, we were managing the gaps quite well. I love it. That was a lot of fun. Those kinds of races, you need them once in a while."

Starting from pole position, ' George Russell secured his first podium finish of the season by finishing third, narrowly ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton, who achieved his best result of the year with fourth place.

"Felt like a missed opportunity to be honest," Russell remarked. "First podium of the year. We truly had a fast car this weekend."

It proved to be a disappointing day for Ferrari, with both and Carlos Sainz failing to finish the race at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Both Williams drivers, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, retired early from the race.

Meanwhile, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate, Sergio Pérez, faced another challenging race, marking his third consecutive non-finish. Earlier in the week, Red Bull announced a extension for Pérez, securing his place with the team through the 2026 season.
