Celtics' Hauser Agrees to Four-Year, $45 Million Extension

The Boston Celtics have agreed to a four-year, $45 million extension with forward Sam Hauser, as confirmed by his agent to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hauser, who had one year and $2 million remaining on his rookie contract, will remain with the Celtics through the 2028-29 season under the new deal.

During the 2024 postseason, Hauser was a significant contributor off the bench, averaging 5.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 38% from three-point range.

In his three-year NBA career, Hauser has established himself as one of the league's top 3-point shooters, with a shooting percentage of 42% from beyond the arc.

This extension is part of the Celtics' broader strategy to retain key players from their championship roster. Following the team's 18th title, Jayson Tatum signed the league's most expensive contract, and Derrick White, Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman, and Neemias Queta have all secured new contracts this offseason. Additionally, point guard Jrue Holiday signed a four-year extension with Boston in April.

The Celtics are expected to incur the league's highest luxury tax and team salary obligations, according to Wojnarowski.
