Juve Sign Argentine Winger Gonzalez from Fiorentina in €38M Deal

Juventus have completed the signing of Argentine winger Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina in a deal potentially worth 38 million euros ($42.5 million). The move marks a significant step in the Turin club's efforts to revamp their squad under new coach Thiago Motta.

Juventus announced that Gonzalez has joined on a season-long loan for eight million euros, with an obligation to purchase for 25 million euros plus an additional five million euros in bonuses contingent on meeting certain sporting objectives. “Given the high probability of the above conditions being achieved... this transaction qualifies as a definitive acquisition effective from today for a total amount of 33 million euros,” Juventus stated.

The 26-year-old winger leaves Fiorentina after three years, during which he was a runner-up in the Europa Conference League twice and in the 2023 Italian Cup. Gonzalez has earned 39 caps for Argentina, scoring five goals and contributing to victories in both the most recent Copa America and the 2021 edition.

Juventus will face Verona on Monday night, but Gonzalez is expected to make his debut for the club next weekend against Roma. Additionally, Juventus is set to finalize the signing of Francisco Conceicao from Porto on a one-season loan reportedly costing nine million euros.

In the summer transfer window, Juventus have also signed Douglas Luiz and Khepren Thuram, and they are actively pursuing Atalanta's star midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
