François Letexier, a 35-year-old French referee, has been selected by UEFA to officiate the European Championship final between Spain and England. The match will take place on Sunday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Letexier has officiated three matches at Euro , including Spain's 4-1 over Georgia in the round of 16. During these games, he issued 10 yellow cards but did not award any penalty kicks or send off any players. One notable incident involved Serbia forward Aleksandar Mitrovic receiving a yellow card for simulation in the penalty area during a 0-0 draw against Denmark.

There were no video review controversies in Letexier's matches, which included the 2-2 draw between Albania and Croatia. The for the final will also be French, Jérôme Brisard.

Known for his discretion in showing red cards, Letexier has only issued one red card in the nine UEFA Champions League and Europa League games he officiated last season, notably to Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano.

Letexier joined FIFA's list of international referees seven years ago. The fourth official for the final will be Szymon Marciniak of Poland, who officiated the 2022 World Cup final and 2023 Champions League final, garnering attention for his decisions in high-stakes matches involving Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Newcastle.
