West Ham United Sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for £15 Million

West Ham United have completed the signing of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for £15 million. The 26-year-old has agreed to a seven-year contract with the Hammers.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined Manchester United from Crystal Palace in a £50 million deal in 2019, scored two goals in 190 appearances for the Red Devils. His transfer marks West Ham's eighth acquisition of the summer, adding to their squad alongside Jean-Clair Todibo, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme, Niclas Fullkrug, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, and Guido Rodriguez.

In his statement, Wan-Bissaka expressed enthusiasm about joining West Ham: “It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham - I'm excited and happy to be here. I can't wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there. I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”

Born in London, Wan-Bissaka noted that it was an “amazing feeling” to return to the capital.

During his tenure at Manchester United, Wan-Bissaka was initially signed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019 and was a regular starter until Solskjaer's departure in 2021. He later struggled for regular appearances under Erik ten Hag, making 64 appearances over the past two seasons.

The transfer of Wan-Bissaka to West Ham has enabled Manchester United to proceed with their pursuit of Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui. The Red Devils are expected to finalize Mazraoui's transfer soon.

West Ham United will begin their 2024-25 Premier League season with a match against Aston Villa on August 17, while Manchester United will host Fulham on August 16.
